AI Weekly Insights #2

Unleashing AI: From Cyber Threats to Creative Frontiers

Happy Sunday!

Welcome to the second edition of “AI Weekly Insights”. This week, we dive into Generative AI in cyber warfare, Nvidia and Foxconn's AI factories blueprint, and Midjourney’s image upscaling leap.

I have also been working on something just for subscribers so stick around for that. Or just skip to the bottom, I won’t judge ;)

For the week of 10/15/23-10/21/23 (P.S. Click the story’s title for more information 😊):

  • This article from Forbes reveals how tools like ChatGPT are now used by nefarious actors to craft convincing phishing content, with AI erasing the usual tell-tale signs like typos and grammatical errors.

  • Though AI tools have guardrails against explicit malware creation, they can help in assembling smaller pieces of deadly code frameworks.

  • Experts suggest leveraging AI for better threat detection and real-time anomaly spotting to combat these evolving threats. Essentially fight AI with AI

  • My take: this is definitely a bit concerning as it could become increasingly difficult to spot social engineering attempts in the future. There was a recent issue of a fake MrBeast ad going around, and this technology is only getting better.

The AI MrBeast ad that fooled a few people.

  • Nvidia and Foxconn are collaborating on data centers for supercomputing, aiming to propel self-driving cars, autonomous machines, and industrial robots, as per TechCrunch.

  • With Tesla's self-driving cars already harnessing Nvidia's supercomputing, Foxconn is eying Smart EVs, smart cities, and smart manufacturing as initial platforms.

  • This move towards AI factories envisioned as new-age assembly lines, hints at a future where data-driven decision-making could redefine industrial landscapes.

  • Midjourney, known for generating images from text, has added the option to upscale images up to 4K resolution, a leap from its previous 1,024 x 1,024-pixel resolution.

  • While these new resolutions enhance image quality, they do come with a longer processing time. Think minutes versus seconds.

  • I’ve enjoyed using Midjourney for my music artwork and am excited to see the sharper images as they have looked a bit blurry with scrutiny.
